The University of Bonn will prefer scholars from strategic partner universities and universities in priority countries for international collaboration. The idea behind this international fellowship is to involve the fellows in Bonn’s academic life as much as possible and make them visible to the public. In addition to that, these Bonn International Fellowships are supposed to open up areas/fields for upcoming/future collaboration ventures (projects) between the fellows and applicants.

Eligibility Criteria for Bonn International Fellowships
- Post-doctoral scholars and experienced faculty who teach and/or research abroad at research institutes or universities and who possess a strong international reputation in their area of research are eligible to apply.
- The applicants (researchers) should be invited by a host from the University of Bonn.
- Members of the university can only submit the applications.
- It should be noted that the university cannot establish contact between the faculty of the University of Bonn and interested fellows.
Criteria of Selection for the Bonn International Fellowships in Germany
- Applicants’ scientific reputation in their areas of specialization will be taken into consideration.
- Another factor of consideration is the fellows’ contribution to academic life in Bonn such as through seminars, public lectures, or colloquiums.
- The expected long-term impact of the stay plus a plan to further develop the collaboration between the host institute in Bonn and the fellow.

Funding Availability
The available funding will cover:
- Travel allowance (depending on country of origin) will be provided.
- The selected fellows will also receive an allowance of €160 per day (up to 12 days including arrival day and departure).
- Material expenditures for events will also be provided (up to €500 per proposal).
Who Can Submit the Application
Researchers functioning as hosts at the University of Bonn who have done a doctorate. The fellows will declare their agreement to the nomination in an informal letter.
