This interesting initiative aims to support students admitted and enrolled in UlysseusCitiesMD which is a joint degree conferred by the European University Ulysseus. This informative master’s degree program focuses on preparing students in a manner to address critical world challenges relevant to sustainable urban development and energy systems, providing the students with the expertise needed for future smart cities.

These study grants are co-funded (co-financed) by Universidad de Sevilla’s Own Teaching Plan and Grupo Santander so that the participants can get relief from financial burden. Call for Study Scholarships for UlysseusCitiesMD Master’s Degree – Eligibility Criteria

To apply for this opportunity, grant beneficiaries must have been admitted to and enrolled in the UlysseusCities Joint Master’s Degree Program offered by Ulysseus European University.

The applicants intend to work or further research in the area of smart cities.
Their background should be relevant to science, technical, engineering, or professional aligned with the program so that they can with ease follow the lectures. This alignment is both an evaluation criterion and an eligibility of the candidates.
Students from technical backgrounds like Industrial Technology Engineering, Energy Engineering, Electronic Engineering and Robotics, Aerospace Engineering, Electric Engineering, Civil and Building Engineering are welcome by UlysseusCitiesMD.
Those applicants with degrees in Computational Engineering, Physics, Mechanical Engineering, and other similar subjects will also be prioritized.

Note: If the candidates want to apply but are presently in the process of obtaining a bachelor’s degree, they can nonetheless apply for admission. A letter written by their university mentioning the expected date of graduation plus a detailed transcript of records will have to be presented in that case.

Study Grants (Financial Coverage)

There are, as mentioned earlier, 25 grants available towards participation costs. They will be offered to successful students. The successful students from the European Union will be awarded €3,000. The non-European students who are chosen will receive €7,500. The participation costs will include enrollment, laboratory, and library costs plus any other compulsory expenses relevant to the student’s participation in the master’s degree program like support in organizational and administrative costs, insurance, examinations, and the issuing of the certificate and that of the European supplement.

These participation costs will not include travel to other partner universities, accommodation, and travel documents (passports, visas, etc.) within the mobility program framework or any other cost that may occur outside the standard duration of the student’s studies like examination re-sits.

The Call for Scholarships for the Joint Master’s Degree will require supporting documents to be uploaded into the application system. These include:

Valid ID document or passport (ID or passport for EU students, and passport for non-EU students)
Copy of the official university first cycle qualification from an HEI (bachelor-EQF Level 6, or equivalent) and transcript of academic records.
Proof of B2 (CEFR) English Level (TOEFL, IELTS, University of Cambridge Certificates, ACLES, etc.)
CV (Europass format)
Motivation letter written in the English language (about the students’ background and their interest in pursuing a master’s program)
Recommendation letters (from two referees) – optional
Other documents relevant to the applicant’s credentials – optional
