Details About the Youth Awards
Founded in 1998 by the Hispanic Heritage Foundation, the Youth Awards now enters its 27th year and honors high school seniors who excel in their communities and classrooms for their excellence in different categories, including engineering, community service, technology, and green sustainability.
Under the Colgate-Palmolive Hz La U Scholarship scheme, gold, silver, and bronze recipients are chosen in each category. They receive a one-time grant to fund their education at the college level or to fund a community service effort, which tackles a social issue, and then, later on, one is chosen in each of the categories.
Eligibility Criteria for the 27th Annual Hispanic Heritage Youth Awards
- Applicants are required to be currently enrolled in high school and graduating in the spring of 2026
- They must have at least an unweighted 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale or 7.5 on a 10.0 scale
- Applicants seeking to obtain this scholarship must enroll at an accredited higher education institution in the academic year of 2026-27
- If chosen, attendance at the virtual regional awards ceremony becomes mandatory
