Eligibility Criteria for DARA Open PhD Fellowship Call Summer 2025
These fellowships are open to all qualified, exceptional candidates irrespective of their age, race, gender, disability, ethnicity, religion, or nationality.
- Eligible candidates are those who are qualified for admission to a PhD degree program in Denmark under either the 5+3 model or the 4+4 model
- Current students and recent graduates are eligible, provided that they meet the admission criteria of their enrolling university
- They need to be in an agreement with a principal supervisor, possessing a position of professor, associate professor, or equivalent at a research institution in the Danish Kingdom, the Faroe Islands, and Greenland. Co-supervisors from the same or other institutions can be included (including international ones)
- It must be noted that the principal supervisor can only have one active PhD fellowship at any time covered by DARA. Besides, it must be noted that this limitation does not apply to co-supervisors.
Funding and Benefits for DARA Open Fellowship Call Summer 2025
These Open PhD Fellowships will award 9 fully funded fellowships that cover the complete costs of a PhD degree program in Denmark. Each fellowship carries:
- Salary – Up to 1,575,000 DKK for the coverage of the PhD fellow’s salary for the complete duration of the PhD appointment
- Project Supplement – Each fellowship will carry a project supplement of 750,000 DKK
- Tuition Fee – Up to 240,000 DKK for the coverage of PhD enrollment fees at the host university/institution
Additionally, the successful fellows will:
- Be paired with an overseas (international) mentor
- Have priority access to the educational and networking opportunities of the academy
