Information Regarding Estonia Government Scholarships 2025-2026
The Estonian Government is pleased to announce scholarships for international students, researchers, and academic staff. In this post, the scholarships offered for participation in summer and winter schools in Estonia will be discussed. The scholarships are offered by the Estonian Ministry of Education and Research and Education and Youth Board.

This scholarship scheme supports foreign students’ participation in summer and winter schools at Estonian universities. Foreign nationals who are bachelor’s, master’s, and PhD students who by the time of applying have studied in their respective universities for a minimum of one year (including former study levels) can apply for these scholarships. Interested candidates are required to pre-register for the course to apply for the scholarships.
Universities in Estonia offer different international short summer and winter courses (one to four weeks), language studies, media, information technology, international relations, etc. If the candidates find any suitable program for them, they are advised to contact the program coordinator directly. In the application round of 2025 summer school, the candidates can also apply for a scholarship for the coverage of the participation fees for online courses.

The Amount for Estonia Government Scholarship for International Students
Successful candidates will be offered up to a 700 euro course fee (one course per applicant) and accommodation costs up to 25 euros per night for a maximum period of four weeks. There will be a contract concluded by the board that makes the direct transfer to the university organizing the course. The university in Estonia, which is organizing the summer school, will offer accommodation or make scholarship payments to the students. A fee for the course will also be paid to the university.

The application period has started on 17th March 2025 and will last till 16th April 2025. Apply before or by the deadline, late applications will not be accepted.
Application Process for Estonia Government Scholarships 2025-2026
When the applicants apply for scholarships for short courses, the following documents are required to be submitted.
- Application Form
- Motivation Letter
- Passport Copy or ID Card Copy
- Registration confirmation from home university containing details (information) on the applicant’s study level, the normal period of studies, and their progress towards the degree
- Confirmation letter issued by the course organizing university (this can be provided by email) specifying the one exact course for scholarship application
Required documents will be provided in English or Estonian language. If they are in other languages, they need to be submitted with a translation either in English or Estonian. Applicants are advised to submit the necessary documents to the host university/institution directly and register for the summer school course. Admission decision has to be taken before the decision of scholarship. Interested candidates are highly advised to go through the details available on the official call before applying.
