As far as the Government of Ireland International Education Scholarship (GOI-IES) Program is concerned, it supports high-caliber international students wishing to study master’s, PhD, or postgraduate diploma in Ireland.

Eligibility Criteria for the Ireland Government International Education Scholarship 2025 (GOI-IES)

To be considered for the Government of Ireland Scholarship, the applicants must possess a domiciliary of origin outside the EEA/EU, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland.
They first have to apply for admission to any relevant master’s, PhD degree, or postgraduate diploma offered by an eligible HEI according to that institution’s admission process.
It must be noted that the applicant must possess a conditional or final offer of admission to that HEI (higher education institution) at the time of application for the Ireland Government Scholarship, and they will be required to provide (submit) a copy of the same.
Prospective applicants who have earlier held a GOI-IES scholarship are not eligible to apply for this scholarship scheme.
Russian and Belarussian students (nationals of these two countries) are not eligible to apply.

Funding Availability Under Irish Government Scholarship

Financial benefits are offered under the Government of Ireland International Education Scholarships. The scholarship consists of a stipend amounting to €10,000 for one year of full-time study at NFQ levels 9 or 10.
The host higher education institutions (HEIs) of the awardees are required to provide the awardees with a full-fee waiver for the year of their scholarship.
The scholars (successful applicants) will be expected to start their studies in either September 2025 or October 2025.

A record of exceptional academic achievement
Participation in extracurricular activities such as politics, humanitarian work, arts, politics, or sport

Note: It is worth noting that the applications will be shared with the relevant HEIs (higher education institutions), which will then check the applications for eligibility and later shortlist them based on alignment with their strategic objectives.
