About Institute for Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence and Technology (INSAIT)

The institute was established by the Government of Bulgaria with the ambitious goal of creating a world-class, leading AI (Artificial Intelligence) and computer science research and education institution in the country. The institute is on its way to operating under similar principles as being done at top-class world-renowned universities ETH, MIT, Stanford, Technon, EPFL, and others.

Duration of the Program

Research fellowship carries a duration of 8 to 10 weeks. The exact duration of this summer fellowship will be decided between the students and their mentors. Since the institution wants the students to benefit optimally from this research fellowship, the institute does not allow summer projects to be done remotely. Therefore, the selected students will be expected to be present at INSAIT in Sofia, Bulgaria during the duration of this program which is a minimum of 8 weeks and a maximum of 10 weeks during the time of summer.

Eligibility Criteria

To be considered for this program, you need to meet the eligibility criteria mentioned as under:

Undergraduate students who are enrolled in any accredited university are eligible to submit their applications.
Interested applicants are required to be enrolled in a STEM major like match or computer science.
Applicants need to have a minimum Grade Point Average (GPA) of 3.5 (out of 4.0) or equivalent in the corresponding grading system.
The institute strongly encourages applications from communities generally underrepresented in STEM.

Financial Coverage

The chosen applicants/students will receive 1500 Euros per month as a stipend for the coverage of their accommodation and living expenditures.
The institute will arrange the accommodation for the students and the cost of the same will be deducted from their stipend.
INSAIT also provides support for travel for selected applicants.
