Eligibility Criteria for LUND University Summer School

  • This is an advanced course. Interested candidates are required to possess sufficient background knowledge of human rights law and public international law
  • Eligible applicants must have either a master’s degree in law or any related field, such as international relations or politics, or be presently enrolled in a master’s degree with evidence of sufficient knowledge of human rights and public international law
  • Or they must have a bachelor’s degree in one of these fields, with evidence of at least 2 years of related work experience in these fields, such as working in government, legal practice, or a civil society organization
  • They must also possess an outstanding working knowledge of English

Financial Coverage

  • Since the university receives a generous donation in support of this course, the applicants need to pay nothing for the course fee
  • The university will also provide the selected international candidates with six nights of accommodation (free of charge)
  • Admitted students will nonetheless need to pay their own travel costs to and from Lund
  • The university offers a limited number of travel grants, which will be available to cover the travel expenses on a strict need basis

The university provides visa assistance to those candidates who require a visa to enter the Schengen zone/Sweden. Visa assistance will be offered in the form of an invitation letter to support the candidates’ visa application.

Note: Applications that exceed these limits will be rejected summarily. Those applicants who are interested in applying for a travel grant need to include an additional short statement (that should be no more than 200 words) explaining the reasons for their grant application.
