Each year, under the Mälardalen University Scholarship Programme, a limited number of scholarships are provided to students who apply for a master’s degree programme with the university as their first choice.
Eligibility Criteria
- Those interested students who would like to be considered for the Mälardalen University scholarship programme, they must have applied for the eligible study programme at the university as their first choice and submitted supporting documentation within the closing dates published on Universityadmissions. Additionally, the application fees must also have been paid on time.
- This scholarship facility is targeted especially at qualified students coming from countries outside of the EEA/EU/Switzerland and who are required to pay their tuition fees.
- This scholarship is not offered to students from 12 countries with which Sweden has long-term development cooperation, namely Bolivia, Bangladesh, Burkina Faso, Cambodia, Ethiopia, Kenya, Mozambique, Mali, Rwanda, Tanzania, Uganda, and Zambia. Interested students from these countries should apply for the Swedish Institute Study Scholarship instead.
Funding Availability
- Successful students will be offered a coverage of 100 percent tuition fees of the study programme as long as they follow the normal study plan (minimum 22.5 credits/semester, minimum 45 credits/academic year).
- This scholarship will not provide coverage for living expenses.
- If the students/recipients of the scholarship’s status change from being a fee-paying student to a non-paying student during the period of study, they will no longer be offered the scholarship.

How to Apply for Mälardalen University Scholarship Programme
Applicants are required to fill out the scholarship form and submit it together with the application and supporting documents at universityadmission.se. Between 27th and 31st March 2026, the notification of the scholarships will be sent by email. The same email address will be used by the university that was used on University Admissions.
