MOPGA stands for the Make our Planet Great Again. The applications are being accepted for the 8^th edition of the MOPGA Fellowship. Sixty applications will be accepted from all parts of the world. France, being a vital player in the fight against climate change and happens to be the guarantor of the spirit of the Paris Agreement, has launched a new MOPGA visiting fellowship program all set to strengthen scientific contributions to the issues of climate change raised by the COPs.

For the MOPGA Scholarship, the call for applications has been announced to welcome a minimum of 60 early-career researchers wishing to perform their research in France. The French Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs in collaboration with the French Ministry for Higher Education and Research is funding this fellowship program that will be implemented by Campus France.

Eligibility Criteria for the MOPGA 2025 Visiting Fellowship Program for Early Career Researchers

To be considered to apply for this opportunity, the applicants need to meet the MOPGA 2025 eligibility.

All nationalities are eligible except French nationals.
Foreign researchers are eligible who hold a doctoral degree for less than five years (they must have passed their thesis defense between December 2019 and December 2024).
Those foreign researchers are eligible who have not lived in France between the period of 5^th September 2024 and 5^th December 2024 (more than 90 days).

Note: 60 fellowships will be offered for 12 months. The program will commence in September 2025.

Funding Availability

Successful researchers will receive the below-mentioned benefits.

2500 Euros per month allowance
500 Euros for moving allowance
A health insurance plan will be provided for the coverage of civil liability and repatriation assistance until the MOPGA Fellow’s registration to the French Social Security Scheme
There will be a complimentary health insurance plan that will cover civil liability and repatriation assistance once the Social Security registration process becomes effective

A resume or CV is required that includes the candidate’s publications in English (four pages maximum)
PhD Diploma or certificate of PhD Diploma
CV of the candidate’s research supervisor in the French host institution (two pages maximum)
A letter of support is also required issued from the French host institution
Three maximum letters of recommendation
Proof of ID or passport

Timeline of the Program

The application period starts from 5^th September 2024
The deadline for applications is 5^th December 2024
Notifications of the results will be announced in May 2025
Arrival in France and the beginning of the fellowship will be between September 2025 and December 2025
