The opportunity is available to applicants planning to enroll as full-time undergraduate students at an accredited university or college, including 3- to 4-year undergraduate study programs in music or a music business-related field of study during the 2025-26 academic year
They are required to maintain a U.S equivalent GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale or above to apply for the opportunity
The academic record of the applicants has to show their potential to succeed in a university/college program in their intended music fraternity field
They should show demonstrated financial need
At the time of application, the applicants are not required to be accepted into a study program, but if chosen for this scholarship scheme, they will need to provide proof of full-time enrollment before scholarship funds can be disbursed

Benefits of the Scholarship

For successful students, there are benefits to the undergraduate music scholarships for international students.

The amounts of scholarship will range between US$ 3,000 to US$ 20,000 per academic year for required tuition and mandatory fees to complete the degree programs of students and vary depending on university or college’s location, the type of university or college (private or state university, etc.), and the Sony Music Group Global Scholars Program’s expected financial need
These scholarships will assist students once they start an undergraduate study program. They are not for the coverage of all education expenditures. Therefore, scholarship recipients will be entirely responsible for the balance of funding, including books and supplies, tuition and fees, transportation, and living costs
Apart from this scholarship, the recipients may be offered other opportunities as well by Sony Music Group to further their professional development, including chances of getting mentorships and unpaid internships
Once the students accept the opportunity, they will be offered a broad range of enrichment programming, including structured webinars and events to connect with Sony Music Group industry experts to prepare an international cohort of future professionals in the music fraternity

Note: Payments of the scholarship will be sent to educational institutions directly on behalf of students every year.

Application Process for the Sony Music Group Global Scholars Program

Interested students should submit the applications in English, and the applications should include:

Completed online application form
Personal statement carrying up to 3500 characters
You need to provide an estimate of expected tuition and mandatory fees for the completion of your degree program during the 2025-26 academic year
Two reference/recommendation letters are required, which must be from non-family members such as professors, instructors, employers, supervisors, leaders, etc.
Applicants should provide a high school transcript or grade report issued by the school. For applicants who are from the UK or Commonwealth countries, O-Level, A-Level, GCSE, or BTEC results will be acceptable
