Information Regarding Travel Grants for ISA 2026
ISA (The International Studies Association) offers travel grants to supplement travel costs for members presenting at the convention. It must be noted that these grants are not intended for the coverage of all travel expenses.
It is ISA’s normal practice to award a large number of grants annually to aid participants in attending the ISA annual convention. There is a deadline, i.e., 1st September 2025, that must be taken into consideration if anyone wants to apply.

Applicants must also be aware that not all funding applications will receive funds, but ISA expects to provide funding facilities to as many participants as possible. It has established several basic thresholds for grant awards. Applicants should know that award decisions will be made public (announced) in mid-October.

ISA Travel Grant Program – Details and Eligibility
Travel Grants for ISA 2026 are to provide senior graduate students, junior scholars, scholars, and students from low-income countries some assistance to enable them to attend conferences with ease that would otherwise be out of their reach.
It should be noted that only ISA members who are registered for the event will be able to qualify for an ISA Convention and conference reimbursement via the ISA Travel Grant Program. And they have to be members within 2 weeks of the convention and should also remain current through 45 days following the convention.
These grants draw from the ISA Travel Grant Program, with a budget administered by the Executive Director and determined by the Governing Council. Remember, these travel grants are not offered for honoraria to policymakers or senior scholars. A facilitation/travel grant is offered to supplement other sources of funding for individuals on this program at the annual conference or convention.

The grant is not for the coverage of all expenses incurred. It will be provided/distributed within the time duration of 45 days after the conference ends, upon receipt of/providing eligible documentation. Candidates will be provided reimbursement for eligible expenses. Besides, the ISA reserves the right to determine reasonable prices for items purchased and will refund (reimburse) based on those prices.
