Information Regarding the UNICEF Leading Minds Fellowship on Climate Education
The interested candidates, who would like to participate in this initiative, will join a global cohort as a leading mind climate fellow. They will elevate youth-led initiatives, conduct research and foresight, shape policy and help design strategic convenings. Those who are selected will receive a grant of up to $20,000.

UNICEF has announced this funded opportunity for which 12 young climate leaders aged 10 to 30 will be chosen. These candidates are those who strengthen climate education in their communities, schools, and countries in both informal and formal settings.

Responsibilities for the Leading Minds Fellowship on Climate Education
- As a fellow, you will document, strengthen, and elevate your climate education ‘Bright Spot’

- You will co-design and co-host strategic convenings
- You will produce stories, tools, and evidence that improve education systems

Eligibility for the UNICEF Leading Minds Fellowship on Climate Education
Those who are interested in applying need to be 10 to 30 years of age, and who are:
- Passionate about climate education, climate action, and generating positive change
- Leading or representing a climate education initiative
- All set to dedicate 4 to 5 hours a week from February 2026 to July 2027 and
- Comfortable working in English (other United Nations languages will be an asset)
Funding Availability and Benefits
Successful candidates will be offered the following benefits:
- During the fellowship, a stipend for work and contributions will be offered
- There will be a technical mentorship and collaboration with research partners
- There will be speaking and visibility opportunities
- They will receive leadership development and also access to a global network of youth advocates and leaders
- The candidates will get a hands-on experience in child rights, youth engagement, foresight, and advocacy
