Information about NL Scholarship for International Master Students

The Ministry of Education, Culture and Science supports the NL Scholarship, and this scholarship opportunity is administered by Nuffic. The opportunity is for future international students.

Formerly popular as the Holland Scholarship, the NL Scholarship is backed by (financed by) the Dutch Ministry of Education, Culture and Science and several research universities in the Netherlands, and universities of applied sciences.

This scholarship has been designed and targeted to international students who are from one of the chosen countries outside the EEA (the European Economic Area) wishing to pursue a Bachelors or Masters study in the Netherlands.

Eligibility Criteria for NL Scholarship for International Master Students

To be eligible for this opportunity, you meet the following requirements:

Your academic records should be excellent with a GPA of 80% or higher.
You need to have (un-) conditional admission to one of the university’s on-campus MSc programmes.
You should be a citizen of Australia, Argentina, Chile, Costa Rica, Cuba, Colombia, Ecuador, Guatemala, Honduras, Indonesia, India, Mexico, Malaysia, New Zealand, Peru, Panama, Singapore, South Africa, South Korea, Turkey, Taiwan, United States of America, United Kingdom, United Arab Emirates or Vietnam.

Note: It should be noted that this scholarship opportunity is not for those students having a double nationality (EU/EEA and Non-EEA nationality).

Financial Coverage

Upon being successful to become a beneficiary of this opportunity, you will receive a one-time payment of € 5.000 in the first year of your studies.

The selection committee also has the option to grant a double scholarship worth € 10.000 or a triple scholarship worth € 15.000.

Important Notes for You

The NL Scholarship will not be deducted from the invoice of your tuition fee.
It is not a full scholarship.
This scholarship will not cover your costs of visa, living and insurance.
