Be between the duration of 3 to 5 years.
Cover sufficient quantum technologies (QT) remit to deliver an outcome with an important impact on the quantum technologies (QT) landscape.
Be supported by an eligible United Kingdom research organization.
Be held at least a level of 50 percent full-time equivalent.

It is worth noting that the UKRI funding will be 80% of the full economic cost. Funding Objectives

The awards for the EPSRC Quantum Technologies Career Acceleration Fellowships have been designed to speed up (accelerate) the careers of higher potential ECRs towards a world-leading position at the end of the period of funding.
Fellows will be able to find and build strong relationships and collaborations with UK stakeholders and around the world.
The awards will provide support to talented ECRs to begin contributing to a vibrant and networked United Kingdom quantum technologies community.
The awards will also let the fellows build connections in industry and end-users hence lessening the gap between commercialization and research.

Fellowship Duration

Applicants may apply for the fellowship between the duration of 3 to 5 years (for funding).

Eligibility Criteria for EPSRC Quantum Technologies Career Acceleration Fellowships

The funding availability is for early career researchers (ECRs) who are on their way to leading their own research program and further would like to develop their independent research profile within the sector of quantum technologies. The ECRs definition is wide and can span from present postdoctoral researchers to those researchers who lately (recently) appointed to their first permanent academic position.

There is no requirement for the fellowships:

To possess a PhD for this fellowship program, because of the diversity of career paths in Quantum Technologies. Thus, if the applicants do not possess a PhD degree, they have to be able to show equivalent research or training.
Regarding postdoctoral experience length or length of related work experience to be considered an ‘early career researcher’.

The applicants need to provide sufficient evidence to showcase they are in the early-career stage and that the funding/award of their fellowship will obtain the objectives of this funding facility. The funding is open and available to national and international candidates based at UK research organizations eligible for UKRI funding.

The candidates have to be supported and hosted by an eligible UK research organization during their fellowship.

Available Funding Under UKRI Funding Opportunity

The total available funding is £14,000,000.
Candidates will be funded 80% of the full economic cost.
It has to be noted that there would be no maximum amount per fellowship award. All costs need to be justified.
