MSCFP (The IAEA Marie Sklodowska-Curie Fellowship Programme) seeks to inspire and provide support to young women so that they can pursue a career in the nuclear field. For this move and to provide support to young ladies, MSCFP offers scholarships to chosen students studying towards a Master’s degree in nuclear-related subjects. Besides, internship opportunities will also be facilitated by IAEA.

It is a widely-known entity within the United Nations family. It is an international center for cooperation in the nuclear field. This entity (agency) works with its multiple partners around the world and member states to promote the secure, safe, and peaceful use of nuclear technologies.

IAEA is the world’s intergovernmental forum designated for scientific and technical cooperation in the nuclear field.

Eligibility Criteria for The IAEA Marie Sklodowska-Curie Fellowship Programme

To be eligible for this opportunity, the applicants (students) should be from the IAEA Member States and they also need to meet the below-mentioned requirements:

  • Only female candidates are eligible to apply.
  • They should be enrolled in an accredited university in a Master’s degree in a nuclear-related field or subject.
  • Those candidates will be preferred who hold above average academic credentials (75% or above or GPA > 3.0 out of 4.0).

Available Fields of Study

This program supports young ladies studying nuclear-related subjects/fields which are related to the IAEA’s work to broaden (advance) the secure, safer, and peaceful uses of nuclear science and technology like nuclear engineering, nuclear physics and chemistry, isotopic techniques, nuclear medicine, radiation biology, nuclear security, nuclear law and non-proliferation. Selection Procedure for The IAEA Marie Sklodowska-Curie Fellowship Programme (MSCFP) 

IAEA MSCFP Technical Selection Committee will assess the applications. The criteria for selection will include educational background, entry requirements, prior achievements, the applicant’s motivation, and the impact of this fellowship program on the applicant’s career goals and commitment to public service. It should also be noted that consideration will be given to geographic, and linguistic diversity and field of study.

The selection committee’s decision will be provided through an e-mail to all applicants.

Financial Coverage (MSCFP Award)

Those candidates who are successful in gaining the opportunity will be offered the award of up to €20,000 for the coverage of tuition costs and up to €20,000 for the coverage of living expenses for the Master’s degree program.

Deadline for Applications

If interested and you meet the eligibility requirements, you may then submit your applications. But the application should be submitted before or by the deadline which is 30th September 2023.

How to Apply for The IAEA Marie Sklodowska-Curie Fellowship Programme

In addition to the completed online application form, the documents required to be provided include:

  • Official admission/acceptance letter for Master’s program (indicating the nuclear-related field of study plus program duration) issued by the university
  • Copy of the candidate’s national ID/passport
  • Confirmation of tuition costs/statement of tuition fees
  • Two reference letters are required – the completed reference forms should be sent directly to MSCFP@iaea.org
